Background

During the height of the pandemic, the rise in anti-Asian sentiment led to a significantly harsh environment for Asian communities. This situation brought to light the urgent need for increased empathy and understanding.

The objective is to establish an Asian arts community that leverages art as a medium to enhance empathy, appreciation, and representation of Asian heritage, arts, and culture in Canada.

What's the impact?

  • Mobilized 10,000+ exhibition and event attendees and built 2,000+ Instagram following

  • Showcased 50+ emerging Asian artists in Toronto across 10+ gallery and institution partnerships

  • Achieved federal nonprofit status and secured $6,000+ Toronto Arts Council grant for programming excellence
